This may cause other publications to think TWICE before they decide to publish all those topless photos of Kate Middleton!
The Irish Daily Star has become the third magazine, following France's Closer and Italy's Chi, to showcase the snaps of the Duchess of Cambridge sunbathing nude during a recent vacation, but now, the man responsible for its financing has decided to stop giving them money in protest of the decision!
Richard Desmond chairs Northern & Shell in the UK, but through a joint venture in Independent News and Media, is responsible for the Irish Daily Star's funding.
Excuse us, WAS responsible!
He said in a statement:
"I am very angry at the decision to publish these photographs and am taking immediate steps to close down the joint venture. The decision to publish these pictures has no justification whatever, and Northern & Shell condemns it in the strongest possible terms."And Gareth Morgan, editor of the UK Daily Star, furthers:
"We're absolutely horrified here in the office, and as a company. This has no merit as an editorial decision, it has no merit morally, it's frankly a horrible decision."Good lord!
Sadly, regardless of the fallout on the publication side of things, these photos are out there, and we doubt they'll stay out of the press for long!
The Royal Family just cannot catch any breaks these days, can they?first Prince Harry now kate, it's just outrageous and awkward
