To those who are not aware, the Central Bank Of Nigeria (CBN) really means business when it comes to the proposed N5000 note.
According credible sources, 5000 Naira notes have been printed abroad and shipped to Nigeria for circulation ahead of the proposed March 2013.
As at today, CBN has acknowledged the printing. CBN claims it’s just the design and not the original bill which is set to come into effect in March 2013
“Whatever anybody saw is the design of the proposed currency not the real currency.
“Before introducing any currency, you have to print a design copy for the monetary authorities to vet and look at the features to ensure they meet security specifications and every other feature in it,” said anonymous CBN Official
